Anaerobic digesters at a municipal plant in the Finger Lakes. The first photograph in the gallery is the vessel part-drawn: grit and rag banked across the floor, material wrapped on the mixing lances, walls carrying years of scale. That accumulation is working volume the plant built and paid for and was no longer getting any digestion from.
Full drawdown into our mixing tanks, then the belt press set up inside the plant’s own dewatering building rather than on an outdoor pad — the second gallery frame shows it running. Once the vessel was empty and the atmosphere tested clear, crews entered and cleaned the floor, walls and mixing assemblies by hand.
The third frame is the same vessel from the same position after the clean: bare concrete floor, clear lances, walls washed down. The first visit ran 28 days in March 2023. The plant called us back in June 2024 and the second cleanout took 23.
This job ran under Digester cleaning. Working a vessel like this one? Send us dimensions and rough volume and we will tell you what the job takes.
